GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

To maintain all the pools filtration systems and water balance, assist pool & sports complex manager in opening & closing pools, as well as helping maintain the appearance of the sports complex.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for filtration maintenance, water chemistry, chemical additions, daily pool readings, general preventive maintenance of pool equipment
  • Assist Complex staff with general upkeep and maintenance protocols at both Woodloch Pines and Woodloch Springs complexes.
  • An independent, detail oriented, organized person with good communication skills.
  • Someone eager to take the initiative to troubleshoot problems, assess them, and then take corrective actions to resolve the issue.
  • Helping with lake, dock, boat operations at our waterfront.

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES

  • Willing to be trained, then to train others on all of our filtration systems and aspects of Water operation, both out front and behind the scenes
  • Water chemistry, plumbing, and electrical experience a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED-no experience needed.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

No certifications required –we will train all aspects of the position. Valid drivers license is required.

It is also helpful to meet the following vision requirements; close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

It is helpful to meet these physical demands to perform the essential functions of this job; vacuuming & brushing pools, moving lounge furniture, carrying towel bags, watching water, adding chemicals, and cleaning weight room. Occasional running and lifting may be involved in essential functions as well as constant climbing stairs and walking in sand.

Working at this job, the employee encounters the following conditions; wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme heat (non-weather). They rarely (but sometimes) experience; working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.
