Job Summary
Woodlawn Dental is looking for a reliable and motivated Clinical Assistant to support our clinical team and help keep our office running efficiently. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys staying busy, is detail-oriented, and is open to learning new skills in a dental setting.
You’ll play a key role in sterilization, infection control, and maintaining a clean, organized environment, while also assisting the clinical team as needed.

Responsibilities
Sterilization & Infection Control
- Perform daily opening and closing duties
- Sterilize, package, and properly store instruments
- Operate sterilization equipment safely and effectively
- Follow all infection control and PPE protocols
- Maintain sterilization schedules and equipment
Office Cleaning & Support
- Clean breakroom and common areas daily
- Sweep/mop floors and remove trash
- Manage laundry (uniforms and blankets)
Clinical Assistance
- Set up treatment rooms and materials
- Assist doctors and hygiene team as needed
- Chart existing dental work and periodontal conditions
- Clean and disinfect rooms between patients
Communication & Teamwork
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner
- Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Participate in team meetings and training
- Support a positive, team-focused work environment
Additional Duties
- Operate office equipment (phones, computers, scanners, etc.)
- Take on other tasks as needed

Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year of dental assisting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications/Licenses: CDA, RDA, OR CODA
- Required: Dental Radiology Certificate, CPR certification.
- Preferred: Experience of at least one year
- Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills for patient and team interactions.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Manage multiple variables in standard and occasionally unique clinical situations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work Environment:
- Moderate noise levels typical of a dental office setting.
- Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
- Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, or kneeling to assist patients and operate equipment.
