Overview
The Director of Marketing – The Woodlands Resort, The Westin at The Woodlands and Embassy Suites Hughes Landing -is a multi-disciplinary leadership and support function within the marketing department leading the marketing efforts for our collection. This individual will report directly to and work closely with the SVP. Their qualifications will require them to be highly organized, capable of working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple projects at one time including (but not limited to): website updates, social media planning and posting, email marketing campaigns, digital advertising strategy, advertising campaign development, collateral production and preparing reports and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee marketing strategy and ensure execution for the properties. Work closely with the property teams to drive topline revenues through strategy and recommendations.
- Create strategies to help both group, transient and catering/ banquet revenues.
- Update brand and independent websites and create digital campaigns by working with Hilton and Marriott brands
- Utilize Hilton and Marriott tools to market hotels
- Lead marketing team
- Develop and execute marketing calendars and plans as well as direct the campaign creative progress and timeline management
- Responsible for the accuracy of all information on website, collateral and advertising that promotes the properties
- Provide content creation for presentations and communications
- Direct social media programs (Facebook and Instagram) including content calendars and creation as well as business account management.
- Oversee the various Brand and CoralTree Digital Library and image distribution platform
- Uses marketing/promotional opportunities to drive revenue
- Uses website analytics to determine advertising ROI and insights into opportunities to create additional revenue
- Direct CRM and email campaigns program at all locations
- Direct the creation and management of all marketing materials, collateral development and advertising including review of design creative and copy.
- Direct digital advertising agency to execute the strategy plan and measure and regularly report results
- Lead and manage outside agencies (as needed) to implement digital, public relations, branding and produce creative assets, brand identity, email marketing and campaign development
- Lead preparation of Sales and Marketing expense budgets for the properties
- Support the property business development teams with appropriate collateral and marketing materials
- Track campaign benchmarks and KPIs to ensure success and optimize campaigns as needed
- Stay on top of industry trends to ensure properties are at the cutting-edge of hospitality services
- Maintain records of all awards and recognitions
- Oversee the marketing for all on-site F&B outlets including programming
- Be a brand ambassador and steward of the culture and branding throughout each property
- Oversee and lead property photos shoots and video shoots
- Engage with local market leaders to create collaborative programs including interaction with Visit The Woodlands, Howard Hughes Corporation and other key business leaders
- Lead the media and public relations efforts including writing and releasing press materials and entertaining journalists
- Additional marketing tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Five years of marketing work experience; in hospitality preferred
- Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed
- Ability to identify trends when production is not meeting budget expectations and implement solutions
- Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficient knowledge of print and digital production, social media marketing, and digital marketing and Public Relations
- High degree of organization, attention to details and level of professional conduct. Self-starter, ambitious and multi-tasker.
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, additional language ability is a plus, however, not required.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Creative and graphic skills, desirable.
- Strong analytical skills.
