Early Literacy Interventionist (2026-27 SY)

Position Overview The Weston Public Schools are looking to hire an Early Literacy Interventionists for Woodland Elementary School. This role is for 25 hours per week, when school is in session (180 days with students and two professional development days), reporting to the Building Principal. About the Weston Public Schools The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary, desegregation program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 166 students (K-12). Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted literacy interventions to small groups of kindergarten and first grade students
• Complete all required documentation and data collection
• Collaborate with teachers and curriculum specialists to identify students' needs and set/monitor learning targets
• Assist teachers in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding individual student needs, interests and abilities

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Teaching experience preferred, ideally in a diverse public school setting
• Experience working with literacy interventions
• Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom

Compensation and Benefits The Early Literacy Interventionist will be paid $36.35 per hour and qualify for full benefits, including subsidized health insurance, and participation in the Middlesex County Retirement System.
