Job Summary
The Automotive Contracts Clerk will be responsible for accurately preparing, reviewing, and processing all of our sales and lease contract paperwork for new and pre-owned vehicles. This role ensures all documentation complies with GM Financial, Ford Motor Credit, and other lender programs, dealership policies, state and federal regulations. The Contracts Clerk works closely with the finance and sales departments to verify deal accuracy, secure funding from lenders, and maintain organized and compliant deal files.
Responsibilities
- Review all retail, lease, and wholesale deal jackets for accuracy and completeness.
- Submit contracts and funding documents to GM Financial, Ford Motor Credit and other lenders promptly.
- Verify compliance with dealership, manufacturer, and legal requirements.
- Correct and resubmit any returned or incomplete deals to ensure timely funding.
- Maintain digital and physical filing systems for all contracts and related paperwork.
- Reconcile schedules related to contracts in transit and ensure timely posting.
- Communicate with lenders, customers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist the finance and accounting teams with administrative support as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and financial information.
Qualifications
- General Motors or Ford dealership experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills to handle high volumes of paperwork
- Detail oriented and multitasking skills
- Ability to interact with people well
- Strong computer skills
