We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are adhered to.
- Record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when applicable.
- Maintain infection control standards by following sterilization procedures and proper handling of dental materials.
- Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information, processing medical coding, and managing dental records.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Experience with X-ray techniques and pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
