Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
• Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring therapy goals are met effectively.
• Support pediatric occupational therapy programs focused on childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders.
• Conduct patient assessments and document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists—to optimize patient care strategies.
• Facilitate patient transport within healthcare facilities or to home settings while maintaining safety protocols through manual handling techniques.
• Contribute to care documentation, progress notes, and communication with caregivers and clients to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• Prior experience working in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care plan implementation.
• Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or disabilities across age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics.
• Familiarity with occupational therapy for clients with conditions like childhood developmental delays or occupational health concerns.
• Strong communication skills for effective caregiver and client interaction; ability to explain treatment procedures clearly.
• Ability to assist with ADLs and perform manual handling safely in various clinical scenarios.
• Acute care experience is preferred; familiarity with medical imaging or treatment plan adjustments is a plus.
