Woodland Country Day School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Second Grade Elementary Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Responsibilities
The Elementary Teacher will:
- Create a positive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate, hands-on lessons aligned with curriculum expectations
- Provide instruction that meets the academic and individual needs of students
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students
- Maintain clear classroom expectations and consistent routines
- Assess student progress and communicate academic and behavioral growth to families
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Collaborate with colleagues, division leadership, and specialists
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and the broader life of the school
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians
- Support Woodland's mission, values, policies, and school-wide expectations
- Contribute positively to the school community beyond the classroom
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field
- New Jersey teaching certification preferred
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and meet a range of learning needs
- Commitment to creating a supportive classroom environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a faculty team
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with children
