Role Description
Woodland Equipment is seeking a Parts Counter Representative to support both daily warehouse operations and customer facing sales activities. This role combines hands on parts management with direct interaction at the counter, over the phone, and through online channels. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and able to work efficiently within inventory systems while providing knowledgeable, professional service to customers. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate parts flow, assisting with product inquiries, and contributing to overall sales goals. Key Responsibilities
Counter Sales and Customer Service
• Greet customers promptly in a professional, courteous manner
• Answer incoming calls and assist walk-in customers
• Identify customer needs and recommend parts or alternative products
• Discuss product features, benefits, and usage
• Diagnose and help resolve basic customer equipment or parts issues
• Assist with showroom displays and merchandise restocking
• Build strong customer relationships to increase sales and margin
• Follow up on open sales orders until completion
• Make outbound calls to customers and prospects for sales and follow up
• Support achievement of monthly sales and margin goals
• Handle cash transactions and issue receipts accurately
• Uphold all safety, health, security, and environmental policies
Parts and Inventory Operations
• Receive and check in parts with accuracy and attention to detail
• Perform inventory counts, maintain bin locations, and assist with stock organization
• Stage parts for pickup orders and service work orders
• Call customers with parts ready to be picked up
• Track parts orders and assist with status updates
• Support e-commerce and web order processing
• Assist with inventory aging reviews, returns, and annual demand reports
• Follow established procedures for documentation and workflow
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
General Expectations
• Learn OPE equipment, industry concepts, and Woodland processes
• Perform opening or closing procedures when assigned
• Maintain the store and all work areas to meet Woodland’s exceptionally high standards for professional appearance
• Work rotating weekend schedule as required (9-noon)
• Arrive on time and remain until the scheduled end of the workday
• Interact respectfully and professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
• Represent Woodland Commercial Equipment in a positive and dependable manner
• Willing to learn how to operate a forklift
Qualifications
• Experience in parts, inventory, or counter sales preferred
• Strong communication skills and customer service mindset
• Ability to lift parts and work on your feet as needed
• Willingness to learn equipment, parts systems, and new processes
• Reliable, organized, and detail oriented – must be able to build and maintain a task list
Compensation
Salary
• Beginning at $50,000 per year
• Incentive program: 1% of applicable sales after $10,000 quota per month
