Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work great with kids efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform basic dental procedures such as taking X-rays, impressions, and assisting with endodontics and prosthodontics tasks.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups to ensure smooth workflow within the practice.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in pediatric dentistry settings.
- Utilize dental software systems, including Dentrix, for efficient record management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, procedures, and terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and coding is advantageous.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Coronal Polishing certification is mandatory
