The Role: Kitchen Lead
The Kitchen lead provides a foundation for day-to-day kitchen operations, as outlined by the kitchen manager, and implemented through YOUR innate leadership skills and professional experience. Ensuring quality standards for food preparation and presentation while continuing to meet and exceed goals set by the general manager/kitchen manager. The lead role requires extensive culinary experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to continually increase your knowledge and understanding of kitchen management/leadership. We are not the status quo; we are looking for a candidate who is excited to leverage their experience base in order to grow with our rapidly expanding operations.
Job Functions:
These responsibilities highlight some of the key functions a Kitchen Lead will perform. They include but are not limited to:
Ensure kitchen and walk-in is clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout service
Cook and prep hot/cold food items according to recipes and quality standards
Maintain food safety protocols including proper FIFO rotation
Conduct regular taste tests to validate food quality
Coordinate with Kitchen Manager, prep, and service teams throughout shifts
Support seamless transitions between AM and PM operations
Record waste due to quality or expiration issues
Assist with new menu training and implementation
Communicate effectively with management to align kitchen operations with overall business goals and customer expectations
Delegate tasks to crew and ensure checklists are being completed for opening, closing, down-time, deep-cleaning, etc.
Assist the Restaurant General Manager with all aspects of restaurant operations
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience
Knowledge of proper food safety handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong time management and multitasking abilities
Basic understanding of inventory management
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective verbal communication skills

Experience working with kitchen management tools

What We Offer:
$22-25 base pay per hour plus tips (9% of net food sales goes to the kitchen)
