Skills and Qualifications
What You Need:
- Current and valid state license for massage therapy.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and sales skills.
- Previous experience working in a spa or therapy center preferred.
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' health history and specific concerns to determine the most appropriate massage techniques.
- Create a comfortable and safe environment for clients, ensuring their privacy and confidentiality are always respected.
- Perform a variety of massage techniques. Some of the massages we offer are Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, body treatments, etc.
- Perform a variety of massage enhancements. Some of the enhancements we offer are scalp treatment, seasonal services, dry brushing, theragun, etc.
- Use the specified products per each massage as outline in our treatment protocols. You will use a variety of essentials oils, creams, etc. that have a scent and different formulations.
- Eagerness to learn about our spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings, and a desire to improve skills by attending continuing education classes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the practice of massage therapy.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the massage therapy room, including sanitizing equipment and changing linens between sessions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
- Always do what is best to enhance the guest/spa experience.
- Engage in diverse activities beyond your primary responsibilities, enhancing our team's creativity and effectiveness of the spa.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform massage therapy techniques with precision and control. Typically, 4 to 11 hours, based on your specific schedule for each day.
- Capability to lift and carry massage equipment, linens, and supplies, weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Flexibility, strength, and dexterity to perform various massage techniques with ease. Typically, 4 to 11 hours, based on your specific schedule for each day.
- Stamina to perform multiple massage sessions per day. Typically, 4 to 11 hours, based on your specific schedule for each day.
- Ability to “turn over” your room in specified time while properly cleaning and prepping room for next guest.
- Be near and physically massaging guests for extended periods of time. Guest may have perfumes, lotions, hair products, makeup, other smells, other products etc. on body.
Job Type: Full- and part-time opportunities. Requires the availability to work weekends and evenings.
