What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Expo position at Woodfire Dundee?
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Host/Expo to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service and creating a positive dining experience. We are willing to hire those without experience, but preference will be given to those with 1-2 years in a similar role. This is a tipped position.
This is a Part Time role, about 1-3 shifts a week, but more hours are available to those who are willing to pick up more responsibilities and roles.
**Duties:**
- Greet guests with a warm welcome and seat them accordingly
-Ensure dining room and waiting area is consistently ready for service.
- Manage reservations and walk-in guests efficiently
- Provide menus and relay information about specials
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Familiarity with POS systems, such as Toast is a plus
-Familiarity with reservation taking/reservation software such as Opentable is a plus
- Strong guest relations skills to enhance the overall dining experience
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food service procedures and phone etiquette
