About the Job:
The Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position monitors facility access, responds to emergencies, and ensures all safety and security protocols are followed at all times.
The Security Guard is responsible for the overall security of the patients, employees, and facility grounds, routinely monitoring all persons and/or vehicles entering or leaving facility property. Primary duties include patrolling buildings and grounds of the hospital to prevent fires, theft, vandalism, and harm caused by others.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of experience in security, corrections, or military service preferred
- Valid, in-good-standing state driver's license required
Key Responsibilities
- Assist, direct, and monitor all individuals entering and exiting the facility.
- Maintain accurate and detailed security logbooks as required.
- Monitor the lobby and conduct frequent security sweeps throughout the facility.
- Verify identification and ensure only authorized personnel access restricted areas.
- Direct emergency responders upon arrival and assist with traffic flow during emergencies and drills.
- Communicate incoming admissions, visits, and deliveries to appropriate staff.
- Monitor parking areas to identify irregular activity, loitering, or misconduct.
- Observe assigned posts and promptly report suspicious behavior to leadership.
- Inspect doors, windows, and locks to ensure proper security measures are in place.
- Respond to emergency calls and assist with managing disorderly conduct.
- Monitor exits to prevent theft and inspect outgoing parcels when necessary.
- Report equipment malfunctions that may impact safety or security.
