TITLE: Day School Teachers
LINE OF AUTHORITY: Report to the Principal/School Board
- Continues to advance professionally through reading, conference attendance, observation, further graduate study, etc.
- Has a wholesome parish viewpoint, exhibiting interest in the total educational effort of the Association and congregations
- Has earned the Bachelor's Degree – this implies at least a degree with a minor in education.
- Member of professional organizations and associations, Membership implies active participation
- Associates closely with God through prayer, study of God's Word, and regular communion and church attendance
- Evidences a lifestyle that reflects a dynamic relationship with the Lord
- Is open-minded, tolerant and displays happy outlook on life

- Is responsible for assisting the principal in implementing policies adopted by the congregation and the School Board
- Reports regularly to the principal on the specific areas of responsibility delegated to the teacher.
- Assist the principal, when possible, in developing sound educational recommendations to the School Board and the congregation
- Is responsible for assisting the principal with all special school programs, religious services, projects, and co-curricular activities, even though some of these may be delegated to other staff members
- Assist the principal in providing information for the preparation of the annual school budget to be submitted to the School Board
- Provides suggested budgetary items to the principal
- Assists the principal in maintaining sound expenditures from the budget
- Communicates effectively with students, evidencing a love for them, commending and reinforcing good conduct and achievement on the part of students
- Is effective and fair in handling student discipline using Law and Gospel as the basis for discipline
- Keeps abreast of current methods trends and materials as they relate to the instructional program

- Sees that tables and chairs fit the students using them.
- Handles clerical work involved in scheduling trips and visits by students
- Prepares necessary routine reports
- Collects, records and maintains essential student records, relating to vital statistics, attendance, academic achievement, and health
- Promotes a clear understanding of the distinctive nature of the school, both in the congregations and the community
- Participates actively in congregational activities
- Participates in community activities. Participation in community affairs will of necessity not be the same in all localities. It may relate to the promotion of health and welfare projects, aid in the election of capable and responsible government leaders, Red Cross, public library, etc.
- Is responsible for playground, corridor, gymnasium, lunchroom and other supervision, as it is assigned
- Is present at least 40 minutes before school begins and for 30 minutes after the school day ends
- Reports to parents systematically
- Provides the guidance appropriate to the experience and maturity of the student; maintains record of factual data related to guidance for future reference in accordance with law (it is recommended that standard forms be prepared by the principal for use by the entire faculty and staff)
