Wood is recruiting for an experienced and proactive Expeditor to join its Operations Americas business focusing on Oil & Gas BU to support offshore greenfield EPC Top-sides projects. This opportunity is onsite in Metairie, LA.
The Role
The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that goods, materials, information, and project deliverables progress efficiently through the supply chain and overall project lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in maintaining schedule integrity by tracking purchase orders, coordinating across stakeholders, and resolving delays.
In addition, the Expeditor will oversee and coordinate expediting-related activities across the EPC contractor, sub-frame contractor, construction contractor, and client, ensuring alignment and timely delivery across all parties.
The initial project is expected to be 6 months to 1 year with the potential additional projects to follow.

Key Responsibilities
Order Expediting & Tracking
- Monitorand expedite purchase orders (POs) from placement through delivery, including final documentation and acceptance at destination
- Track supplier progress across design, sub-orders, manufacturing, testing, and delivery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the materials management system in line with contractual delivery schedules
- Develop and maintain PO-specific expediting plans for critical orders
- Establish and maintain strong communication channels between Procurement, Engineering, Inspection (SQS), Logistics, suppliers, and contractors
- Ensure suppliers clearly understand delivery destinations, timelines, and documentation requirements
- Expedite PO acknowledgments and ensure supplier commitments are met
- Conduct supplier visits (as required) to assess progress and resolve issues
- Coordinate expediting activities across EPC contractor, sub-frame contractor, construction contractor, and client stakeholders
- Track and distribute supplier progress reports and production schedules
- Maintain expediting files, including major sub-order documentation
- Analyze fabrication schedules, document lists, and sub-orders to identify risks and critical paths
- Issue Slip Alerts to stakeholders when delays or risks are identified
- Maintain rolling action lists and proactively follow up to drive resolution
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) for inspection and test plan witness points
- Review and distribute inspection and expediting reports
- Support close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and punch list items following FAT or final inspection
- Expedite final documentation and data books post-shipment
- Interface with Shipping, Logistics, freight forwarders, and material control teams
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete and issued on time
- Monitor shipping status and expedite Material Receiving Reports (MRRs)
- Support resolution of Over, Short, and Damaged (OS&D) issues
- Verify supplier progress invoices against achieved milestones
- Participate in supplier performance evaluations
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation actions to prevent delays

Expected
- High School Diploma or Bachelor’s/University Degree
- 10 years of experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain within energy or heavy industry projects
- Experience supporting offshore, oil & gas, or EPC facility projects
- Strong understanding of purchase order lifecycle and supplier management
- Ability to interpret:
- Fabrication schedules and production plans
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Supplier document registers and sub-order lists
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Fluent in English
- Experience with major engineering/EPC companies
- Experience working at client sites or within integrated project teams
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits or short-term assignments
- Strong organizational and tracking capabilities
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation
- Effective communication across technical, commercial, and client teams
- Strong supplier and contractor relationship management
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
