We are looking for a Part-Time Mental Health Therapist to assess and monitor client behavior while in treatment for chemical and/or alcohol use and dependency.
- You will provide crisis management, counseling, group therapies, and education for clients and family/significant others in therapeutic milieu setting.
- You will document client behavior, group participation, and counseling.
- You will care for clients and coordinate treatment and discharge planning.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assessment and participate in treatment planning with clients and their families/significant others.
- Interview clients to obtain information concerning social history, treatment, and other pertinent information.
- Observe clients to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior.
- Review results of tests given by psychologists to evaluate clients’ needs.
- Change method and degree of therapy when indicated by client reactions/needs.
- Discuss progress toward goals with clients.
- Plan and administer therapeutic treatment, behavior modification, and stress management therapy.
- Complete and maintain individual and group counseling notes and documentation.
- Develop and implement appropriate discharge planning with client and family.
- Assist Clinical Director in the coordination of services for clients.
- Initiate, facilitate and promote on-site activities, therapeutic support and educational groups, outings, and community meetings.
- Provide education for clients and significant others.
- Respond to emergencies and initiate action as required.
- Record significant events involving client’s activities.
- Respond to client complaints.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current, active mental health professional licensure in state of Wisconsin (LPC, LCSW, LMT, LMSW, Psychologist) with knowledge of addiction treatment.
- 1 year of experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders in a clinical setting, including knowledge of integrated treatment approaches and best practices.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
