Responsibilities:
- Design and draft detailed plans, layouts, and specifications using CAD software.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and improve product designs, considering functional requirements and manufacturing constraints.
- Create 2D and 3D models of products, incorporating accurate dimensions, materials, and finishes.
- Generate technical drawings, schematics, and construction documentation for fabrication and installation purposes.
- Conduct thorough reviews of designs to ensure compliance with industry standards, company guidelines, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
- Participate in design meetings, providing technical expertise and contributing innovative ideas to optimize product performance and aesthetics.
- Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and documentation to support design consistency and standardization.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in CAD engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve design processes and outcomes.
- Adhere to established timelines and project schedules, managing multiple design projects simultaneously and ensuring timely completion.
- Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies, working closely with the engineering team to implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants as needed to gather information and ensure accurate representation of design intent.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CAD Engineer, Draftsman, or a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar), with the ability to create and modify complex 2D and 3D models.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and materials used in the millwork industry.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate conceptual ideas into accurate and precise technical drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues effectively.
- Solid organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
