Maintenance Manager – Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Location: Fullerton, California

Compensation: $130,000–$140,000 base salary

A growing food and beverage manufacturer is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and reliability at its Fullerton production facility.

This individual will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical and utility infrastructure supporting a technically complex beverage-processing operation. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team, improve equipment reliability and oversee capital projects from initial scope through installation and commissioning.

This is an on-site leadership position for someone who is comfortable developing the maintenance strategy while remaining close to the equipment and day-to-day plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop maintenance technicians, planners and shift-level maintenance leadership.
• Own the plant’s preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
• Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of HTST pasteurization, hot-fill packaging and liquid-processing systems.
• Support filling, sealing, cooling, conveying and associated packaging equipment.
• Provide technical leadership across CIP/SIP, homogenization, thermal processing and related production systems.
• Lead capital projects from scoping, budgeting and ROI justification through vendor selection, installation, commissioning and closeout.
• Manage plant utilities, including boilers, compressed air, refrigeration, wastewater, water treatment and electrical distribution.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare-parts inventory, contractors and MRO vendor relationships.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions involving equipment failures, downtime and quality deviations.
• Champion plant safety, GMP, food safety and regulatory compliance.

Required qualifications

• Five or more years of maintenance management or senior technical maintenance leadership experience.
• Maintenance experience within food, beverage, dairy, juice or another regulated liquid-processing environment.
• Direct experience supporting or owning an HTST pasteurization system.
• Experience with hot-fill filling and packaging technology.
• Proven ability to manage capital projects from initial scope through commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of industrial utilities, including boilers, compressed air, refrigeration, wastewater and electrical distribution.
• Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA and OSHA requirements.
• Experience developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Strong leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience using a CMMS for preventive maintenance scheduling and asset management.
• Familiarity with PLC and automation troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of TPM and continuous-improvement methodologies.
• Lean, Six Sigma or reliability-centered maintenance training.

This position is based on-site in Fullerton, California. The Maintenance Manager must be comfortable working in a food or beverage manufacturing environment and available to respond to occasional off-hours maintenance emergencies.
