Delivery Helper

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Delivery Helper to assist with the safe and efficient delivery of goods. This role involves supporting the delivery driver in loading, unloading, and transporting items to various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and experience with warehouse operations or delivery services. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in logistics and transportation while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Duties

• Assist the delivery driver with loading and unloading packages from box trucks or commercial vehicles such as trucks with manual transmissions.
• Help in moving heavy or bulky items using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
• Support route driving by helping to organize deliveries and ensuring timely arrival at each destination.
• Load and unload goods at warehouses, distribution centers, or customer locations, ensuring items are handled carefully to prevent damage.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
• Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries and pickups, including verifying loads against manifests.
• Follow safety protocols during all aspects of loading, unloading, and moving items.

Skills

• Prior experience in customer service or warehouse operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial driving, especially with box trucks or vehicles with manual transmissions.
• Experience with delivery driving and route management is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical moving of goods safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is a plus.
• Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license or courier certification preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills for load & unload tasks and route driving coordination.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in delivery logistics with opportunities for growth within the transportation industry.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $17.25 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
