Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in assembling dishes during meal service, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks to maintain smooth operation during busy hours
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
- Contribute to menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
- Cleaning of seating area, bathrooms, mopping and other responsibilities required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and food handling in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
- Experience with catering or serving is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen operations
