About the role
The Director of Supply Chain for Fleet Production is responsible for the strategic leadership, development and organizational structure of an integrated global supply chain. The Director is responsible for the development and execution of core Supply Chain and Sourcing operational excellence, tools, processes and capabilities. The right candidate understands the multi-pronged responsibilities of Sourcing/Purchasing, Demand Planning, and Logistics. This position will lead the development and implementation of business-focused supply chain initiatives that drive continuous improvement throughout the business as well as identify global supply chain solutions.
- Oversee and lead vendor negotiations
- Lead and develop a global supply chain, sourcing and logistics teams by providing direction and guidance through clear performance expectations and coaching
- Oversee total cost of initiatives and solutions that mitigate supply risk while balancing investments in working capital and achieving cost reduction
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Leaders to develop strategies, processes and policies to effectively mitigate supply and supplier risk
- Establish performance monitoring/KPI programs to effectively measure the performance of supply chain activities and international vendor partners
- Drive opportunities to develop, improve or simplify processes and policies for effective planning and scheduling, supplier management practices, order fulfillment, inventory management and logistics activities.
- Facilitate ongoing communication with Fleet Production to establish reliable forecasts and enable focused product planning
- Responsible for the accuracy of material transactions through the supply chain and upfitting operation
- Coordinate with Fleet Production to ensure aspects of order fulfillment allow for smooth delivery of products and services to customers with a focus on complete and on-time delivery
- Responsible to ensure materials are available to support the production plan
- Shorten lead times
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
The experience you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or Business
- 15 years Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations experience
- Experience working with freight forwards, customs and duties domestically and internationally.
- A willingness to work as a “player/coach”—personally executing; as well as, leading others.
- A proven track record of operational delivery in supply chain and sourcing across manufacturing, transportation, and planning.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively, generate options, build consensus, and execute.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Aptitude for both strategic thinking and detail-oriented operational management
- Able to understand and think strategically and implement long term plans; can handle both long term and short-term goals simultaneously
- Strong presentation and overall communication skills from plant operations floor to senior executive
- Ability to lead/drive change, and influence/mentor others to deliver immediate results
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Proven ability to create vision, benchmark and develop compelling strategies
- Demonstrated experience in Sourcing, Demand Planning and Logistics environment
- Proven ability as a productive and collaborative executive team member
- Strong evidence of developing talent and leading an organization to excellence
- Proven ability to effectively lead and manage within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
- Experienced in establishing performance metrics, motivating and holding people accountable for results
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships across the organization to identify business needs and seek a full range of business solutions.

Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000
