Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Center Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children in a safe and hygienic environment. Your culinary skills will contribute to the overall well-being of the children in our care, ensuring they receive balanced meals that support their growth and development. You must have a passion for children and understand you are creating amazing meals for little people.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines and children's nutritional needs.
• Ensure all food safety and food handling procedures are strictly followed to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
• Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining proper storage of food items.
• Collaborate with the dietary department to create menus that cater to various dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils used in food preparation.
• Assist in meal service, ensuring that all meals are served promptly and in an appealing manner.
• Monitor children's reactions to meals to make adjustments as necessary for future meal planning.

Experience

• Previous experience , particularly in food preparation or food service, is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling is essential.
• Experience with menu planning for large groups, especially in a child care or educational setting, is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for working with children and understanding their nutritional needs is highly valued.
