We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time or full-time Pelvic Health Physical Therapist to join our specialized pelvic health practice. In this role, you will provide one on one physical therapy care for individuals with a wide range of pelvic health conditions, helping patients regain function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. You will assess patient needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide evidence based, patient centered care in a private and supportive environment.
Our practice is dedicated exclusively to pelvic health, providing care across the lifespan for women and men. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your pelvic health expertise while making a meaningful impact in an under-served specialty within our community. We are dedicated to 1:1 Hour long care and mentorship from experienced pelvic health clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with pelvic health concerns, including pregnancy and postpartum recovery, bladder dysfunction, bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, sexual health, pelvic organ prolapse, and male pelvic health
- Perform appropriate external and internal pelvic floor examinations within the clinician's training and competency
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices
- Utilize manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, behavior strategies, and patient education to facilitate recovery
- Assess and address contributing orthopedic factors, including the hips, lumbar spine, SI joint/pelvic girdle, core function, and pressure management
- Educate patients on physiology, anatomy, and self-management strategies to promote long-term health benefits and indepdence
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, urologists, gynecologists, neurologists, and other specialists to coordinate care when appropriate
- Manage clinical documentation accurately and efficiently using our electronic medical record system
- Provide care using trauma informed, inclusive, and patient centered communication
Skills
- Current North Carolina Physical Therapy license or eligibility for North Carolina licensure
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to pelvic health and rehabilitation
- Pelvic Health physical therapy training with experience performing pelvic floor evaluation and treatment
- Level I pelvic health coursework/certification required
- Experience with internal pelvic floor assessment required; rectal and/or male pelvic health experience is not required.
- Strong orthopedic assessment and treatment skills, particularly involving the hips, lumbar spine, SI joint/pelvic girdle, and core
- Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and electronic medical records (EMR systems) management
- Ability to develop effective treatment plans for diverse patient populations
- Excellent client communication skills to educate and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey
- Willingness to continue developing advanced pelvic health skills through mentorship, training, and continuing education
