Duties
- Perform a wide range of hair services including cuts, trims, styling, coloring, hair extensions, and hair threading to meet client preferences and needs
- Utilize advanced techniques such as balayage, highlights, lowlights, and color theory principles to achieve desired results
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by properly sterilizing tools like straight razors and implements in accordance with health regulations
- Provide personalized consultations to understand client goals and recommend suitable services or retail products such as hair care items or makeup application products
- Manage appointments efficiently using salon software like MINDBODY or similar platforms; handle front desk duties including scheduling and client check-in/out
- Upsell retail products and additional services through effective communication and retail math skills to enhance client experience and salon revenue
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices when needed, sharing expertise in cosmetology, barbering techniques, eyelash extensions, nail care, and other beauty treatments
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry as a hairstylist or barber with a strong portfolio of diverse styling techniques
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment management and client records
- Skilled in hair coloring techniques including color theory application to ensure vibrant, natural-looking results
- Familiarity with sanitation standards for tools like straight razors and other implements used in hair cutting and grooming
- Experience providing excellent customer service with strong communication skills to build lasting client relationships
- Background in store management or retail sales is a plus for assisting with product recommendations and upselling strategies
- Certification in cosmetology or barbering is required; additional training in eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care is advantageous
