Job Summary
Join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across outpatient settings. This energetic position combines clinical expertise , ensuring smooth clinic operations and compassionate patient interactions. You will utilize your skills to provide comprehensive care, assist with medical procedures, and support our multidisciplinary team.
Duties
- Perform patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately for documentation of patient encounters
- Support patient service activities by answering questions, providing education on medications and treatments, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Prepare exam rooms for procedures, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean clinical environment in compliance with safety standards
- Complete prior authorizations with insurance companies for medications and procedures
- Send referrals and schedule imaging procedures
Requirements
- Valid LPN license or Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program
- Experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments preferred
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or phlebotomy are a plus
- Prior experience in inpatient settings or Level I/II trauma centers highly desirable
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care in fast-paced environments
