Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in order picking using RF scanners and
pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. - Operate cranes and other heavy machinery to move large materials or equipment within the yard safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized yard by stacking pallets, managing materials handling tasks, and ensuring proper storage of goods.
- Support shipping & receiving processes by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and documenting inventory movements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections following OSHA standards to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily operations, prioritize tasks, and improve overall yard productivity.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction environments.
- Skilled in operating forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining proper ergonomic practices.
- Experience in order picking using various tools such as
pickers or similar systems. - Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced setting.
