JOB DESCRIPTION
COMPUTER INSTRUCTOR
WomenRising is seeking a Computer Instructor for its Community Economic Development
Department. The mission of CED is to build a platform of skilled workers, by providing a broad range of in-demand occupational training programs to guide and prepare students to enter and succeed in the labor market.
Job Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate and apply a thorough and accurate knowledge of the teaching field and discipline;
· Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning; Business Accounting (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook);
· Practice excellence in teaching and facilitating classroom instructional learning tools;
· Modifies instructional methods and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
· Prepare lesson plans and teach the course as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum;
· Encourages the development of communication skills and higher-order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Strong computer, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills.
· Highly skilled in training and facilitation using adult learning methodologies.
· Ability to manage a classroom environment and keep the audience engaged.
· Communication platforms; Internet, Zoom, and WebEx skills
· Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
· Have a high degree of professionalism and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
· Required: Candidate must be proficient in QuickBooks 13-up.
· Must have a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Excel).
· A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative, full-time, documented bookkeeping/accounting work experience.
· Documented experience teaching/training adult learners required.
· Bachelor’s degree
· Highly preferred candidates will have one or more of the following:
o QuickBooks certification and/or other technical certification(s)
o Master’s Degree in accounting or business-related area.
o Professional certification in related fields, such as CPA and/or MOS
