Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the store's operations and enhancing customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure efficient store operations and help drive sales growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including supervising staff and ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, inventory control, and merchandising.
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in recruiting efforts by interviewing potential candidates and assisting with onboarding processes.
- Handle payroll processing and bookkeeping tasks to maintain accurate financial records.
- Implement effective sales strategies and monitor retail math to achieve sales targets.
- Manage shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours while maintaining compliance with labor laws.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and communication skills.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on budgeting, purchasing decisions, and marketing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding cash handling, pricing, and customer service standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar supervisory role within a retail environment.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with effective communication abilities in both English and any additional languages (bilingual or multilingual preferred).
- Proficiency in retail management practices including POS systems, cashiering, inventory management, and merchandising.
- Solid understanding of retail sales principles and practices along with experience in sales management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with administrative tasks such as budgeting, payroll processing, and bookkeeping is essential.
- A background in grocery store operations is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
