What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Operations Assistant position at Women's Metropolitan Golf Association?
This position involves exposure to all aspects of golf administration. It includes, but is not limited to, membership services, tournament setup, social media, girls’ golf initiatives, website content, and general office administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform administrative tasks and assist the Tournament Manager in executing WMGA tournaments
- Perform and coordinate activities as directed in various aspects of golf administration, including tournament preparation, tournament execution and other general office administration
- Work with board members and office staff on assignments or projects that enable the development and fulfillment of the WMGA’s mission
- Coordinate food and beverage service with host clubs for tournaments and special events
- Coordinate and prepare marketing and communications materials for distribution
- Support Foundation activities, including administrative tasks
KEY QUALITIES:

- Highly organized with the ability to set priorities and coordinate activities with others
- Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals and groups
- Ability to collaborate with the Board to implement strategic plans

- Commitment to advancing junior girls' and women's amateur golf
- General understanding of the sports industry and golf tournaments a plus
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma
- Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle to get to and from tournaments/events
- Capacity for light physical labor and standing for an extended period of time
- Available for and able to travel to tournament sites in the tri-state region (Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island)
- Experience working in a small office/service-oriented environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar), Adobe, Facebook, Instagram and MailChimp
SALARY: $20/hour, commensurate with experience. Travel expenses to/from tournaments will be reimbursed
TRANSPORTATION: Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle
