The Certified Phlebotomist is a key member of our team, responsible for performing blood draws and preparing specimens with accuracy and professionalism. A substantial portion of the role involves the collection and processing of urine samples. Delivering exceptional customer service is crucial to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture (blood draws) while ensuring patient comfort and clear communication throughout the process
- Label and centrifuge specimens, document maintenance and decontamination, and update patient information accurately
- Collect, store, and package specimens in accordance with established protocols
- Properly store and track specimen samples and laboratory results as directed by providers
- Enter patient information into our systems in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain organized patient and specimen information logs
- Sterilize instruments and coordinate sharps disposal
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines and safety standards
- Deliver excellent service to all patients
- Provide administrative and clerical support as needed
Schedule:
- No evenings! No weekends!
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - or less if part-time
- Occasional flexibility to stay past 5:00 p.m. may be needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current phlebotomy certification from an accredited organization (required)
- Previous phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities
