What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Tech position at Women's Health Services?
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced medical imaging equipment to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, with a focus on women's health, including maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and reproductive patient care. This role requires a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to provide accurate imaging and support patient care. The Sonographer will play a vital role in assisting physicians with diagnostic assessments and ensuring high-quality imaging services in a clinical setting.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Operate and maintain various medical imaging equipment, including ultrasound machines, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Perform diagnostic sonography procedures across a range of specialties such as maternal-fetal medicine, gynecology, vascular diagnostics, and general medical imaging.
- Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Accurately capture and analyze images for interpretation by physicians, utilizing Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Assist in patient positioning, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort throughout the examination process.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and images obtained in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and support diagnostic processes.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols related to medical imaging and patient care.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proficiency in operating medical imaging equipment with expertise in ultrasound technology.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to women's health diagnostics, gynecology diagnostics, and vascular technology diagnostics.
- Experience with Women's health and reproductive patient care, including maternal-fetal medicine applications.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing and retrieving images.
- Ability to perform diagnostic radiology procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures effectively to patients and collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Knowledge of medical equipment operation specific to sonography and general diagnostic imaging tools.
- Understanding of anatomy related to obstetrics, gynecology, vascular systems, and general human physiology.
