What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist / OBGYN Sonographer position at Women's Health of Central Virginia?
Women’s Health Services of Central Virginia is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Sonographer to join our established and growing practice. This is a full-time, in-person position with no on-call requirements. The sonographer will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in obstetrics and gynecology under physician supervision, while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform obstetric ultrasound exams (first, second, and third trimester) utilizing 2-D, 3-D, 4-D, and transvaginal ultrasound.
- Perform gynecologic ultrasound exams utilizing 2-D and 3-D TVUS, Color Doppler, and pulsed Doppler.
- Review patient history, obtain clinical information, and confirm orders for medical necessity.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with protocol.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide an exceptional patient care experience.
- Maintain compliance with departmental protocols and AIUM accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program.
- ARDMS certification in OB/GYN required with in one year of hire.
- BLS/CPR certification preferred.
- Prior OB/GYN ultrasound experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move ultrasound equipment as needed.
