What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Telephone Triage (OB/GYN) position at Women's Health of Central Massachusetts?
Opening for an experienced LPN Telephone Triage, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Mon.-Fri., 8:30am-5pm
DUTIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager and under the direction of OB/GYN physicians or midwife, assist in patient care via telephone triage at a high-volume, fast-paced call center. Triage responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Gather pertinent information from patients to convey to healthcare providers
- Communicate in effective and timely manner with providers and patients
- Thoroughly document communication in patients' electronic medical record
- Transmit, on behalf of the providers, electronic lab orders and ordered prescriptions
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures
- Obtain prior authorizations/certifications from insurance companies
- Process referrals
- Coordinate care with patients' other healthcare providers
- Other related work as required
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum educational requirements for this position are both a high school diploma/GED and a current unencumbered LPN.
One year of LPN experience in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital preferred; will train highly motivated new graduate. OB/GYN experience an asset.
