Medical Billing & Coding Specialist – OB-GYN Experience Preferred

Our busy, fast-paced OB-GYN practice is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our team. We are looking for someone with a strong background in women's health billing and coding who is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and committed to maximizing accurate reimbursement while maintaining compliance with current coding and payer guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately code and submit professional claims using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of OB-GYN coding, including prenatal care, antepartum and postpartum services, labor and delivery, gynecologic procedures, surgery, contraceptive services, ultrasound, and preventive women's health visits.
- Review provider documentation to ensure complete and accurate coding.
- Work insurance claim denials, appeals, and payment discrepancies to maximize reimbursement.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims in a timely manner.
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
- Stay current on payer policies, coding updates, and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing and coding experience required.Previous OB-GYN or Women's Health billing and coding experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer-specific billing guidelines.
- Experience billing prenatal care, deliveries, gynecologic procedures, contraceptive services, and obstetric ultrasounds is highly preferred.
- Experience with EMR/EHR and practice management software.CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding certification preferred
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
