Women's Campaign International (WCI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women's political participation, leadership, and economic empowerment around the world. Through training, technical assistance, and partnerships, WCI works with women leaders and organizations in emerging democracies to strengthen inclusive governance and civic engagement.


Position Overview

Women's Campaign International is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Operations & Grant Writing Intern to support the organization's day-to-day operations and fundraising efforts. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit management, grant development, and organizational administration while contributing to an organization with global impact.


This role is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students, recent graduates, or young professionals interested in international development, public policy, nonprofit leadership, political science, or public administration.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizational compliance and administrative requirements, including maintaining and updating government registrations such as the System for Award Management (SAM.gov)
  • Support grant research, proposal writing, and preparation of funding applications
  • Assist with grant reporting and maintaining proposal calendars and deadlines
  • Organize office files, records, and operational systems to improve efficiency
  • Help coordinate meetings, schedules, and organizational logistics
  • Maintain databases and administrative documentation
  • Conduct research on funding opportunities, foundations, and government grant programs
  • Provide general administrative support and assist with special projects as needed


Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication and research abilities
  • Interest in nonprofit management, international affairs, public policy, or political leadership
  • Comfortable learning new administrative systems and online government platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines
  • Previous experience with grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit organizations is a plus but not required
