Human Resource Coordinator
The WBDC is hiring for a part-time Human Resource Coordinator. This role is based in Chicago and reports to the Managing Director, Finance and Human Resource.
The Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) is a 501(c)(3) nationally recognized leader in the field of small business development and economic empowerment that was established in 1986. The Role:
The Human Resource Coordinator will support the administration of the organization’s competitive benefits programs while adhering to compliance requirements pertaining to all relevant laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in the administration of the employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, and other benefits.
- Support in the administration of the open enrollment process for benefits, including analyzing, forecasting, and comparing benefits package to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- Support in the administration of training initiatives and provide guidance on organizational policies and procedures, as well as other compliance-related matters.
- Support in the administration of talent management, including onboarding, performance management guidance, and employee trainings.
- Support in the administration of training and guidance on compliance-related matters, including benefits-related inquiries and issues.
- Assist in communications on policies and procedures, benefits, and other related items.
- Ensure compliance with employment & labor law, HIPAA regulations, Medicare requirements, and other legal standards related to employee benefits.
- Align with the WBDC’s overall strategic goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance standards
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Analytical skills
- Solid communication and organizational skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in payroll administration and software
- 3 years of work experience
- Bachelor’s degree

The salary range for this position within the WBDC is $35 - 45 hourly, commensurate with experience and skillset.
