What are the responsibilities and job description for the OR Assistant TEMP 36D position at Women & Infants Hospital?
Job Summary: The OR Assistant is responsible for assisting the OR department with transferring patients from the stretcher to OR table and assisting nursing staff with positioning the patient for surgery. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting in setting up the OR rooms and gathering case carts and equipment for the next case. The OR Assistant will deliver specimens to the pathology room routinely and STAT. Assists in transporting patients to and from the Operating Room.
Specifications: High school graduate or equivalent preferred with 6 months to 1 year of clinical experience required. Must have and maintain CPR certification. Knowledge of inventory procedures and unit stock items, basic cleaning skills, and infection control policies and procedures required. Proficiency in the English language required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary.
