POSITION DETAILS

"At Baruch College we believe that student success is everyone’s responsibility”

Baruch College is a selective, urban, public college within CUNY, enrolling a very diverse undergraduate and graduate student body, the majority of whom are Pell-eligible. Baruch is nationally recognized for student outcomes, socioeconomic mobility (#1 nationally), and value (#1 nationally), while also facing the complexities common to large public institutions: scale, affordability pressures, and the need to coordinate student support across multiple organizational units.

Recent institutional analyses as part of Baruch College’s “Next Level Student Success” project have highlighted the need for stronger integration, clearer pathways, and scalable student success practices across the student experience. The Director of Student Success will play a key role in supporting this work in alignment with the College’s Strategic Plan.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Provost for Learning and Student Success, the Director of Student Success leads efforts to create a coordinated, welcoming, and effective student experience across the institution. Working in close partnership with faculty, advisors, and student-facing teams, the Director ensures that students encounter clear pathways, consistent guidance, and responsive support from entry through graduation.

This role focuses on connecting people, processes, and systems so that students can easily navigate the College and receive timely, thoughtful, and effective support. This includes strengthening the coordination and effectiveness of the Baruch One Stop Shop (BOSS) as a central hub for student support services and well-integrated referrals. The Director also provides leadership to the effective use of student success technologies and case management systems to improve communication between offices and track student needs.

At the same time, the Director strengthens communication, aligns practices, and implements shared approaches to student success to advance a collaborative and positive working environment for faculty and staff. Through the thoughtful use of data, the Director propels teams to assess effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure that services are responsive to student needs.

Through coordination, care, and continuous improvement, the Director helps make Baruch a place where students feel supported and where faculty and staff can do their best work together.
