Job Summary
WFC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join its Before & After School educational team. The ideal candidate will assist students with homework assignments and help foster a positive learning environment, and achieve their academic goals. This role involves working with elementary school students, providing personalized instruction, and utilizing effective teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
This position is part time (4 hrs. per week), Monday-Tuesday- Wednesday, 3:30pm-4:30pm, and Thursday, 3:00pm-4:00pm and is based at our Hanover site.
Duties
- Provide academic support during program hours.
- Meet students at the site and go over their homework assignment.
- Assess students’ progress throughout tutoring sessions.
- Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be organized, timely, detail oriented, and take initiative.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Required)
- CT Teacher Certification K-6 (Required)
- One (1) year experience working with elementary school children (Required)
- Bilingual - English/Spanish (is a plus)
