Summary
As a Mid Level Metal Fabricator at Wombat NYC, you'll work across multiple production departments — including laser cutting, press brake operation, part finishing and fabrication — playing a hands-on role in delivering precision-made components. You'll review technical drawings, program cutting jobs, and collaborate with the team to keep production on schedule. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a mechanical mindset are essential, as you'll be expected to troubleshoot issues and ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Qualifications
· Mechanical aptitude and willingness to be cross-trained across multiple processes
· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
· High attention to detail and quality
· Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction in a fast-paced environment
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs
· 1yr or more of workshop experience
· Able to work 9am – 5pm weekdays
· Forklift experience is a plus
Responsibilities
· As a Mid Level Metal Fabricator, you will contribute to all aspects of production across multiple departments, including laser cutting, press brake operation, part finishing, welding and more
· This is a hands-on role that requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong mechanical mindset
· Whether you’re setting up a press brake or deburring finished parts, you’ll play an essential role in delivering precision-made components to our customers
· Learn and perform a range of tasks depending on departmental needs, including:
· Operating or supporting CNC fiber lasers or press brakes
· Deburring, tumbling, and finishing parts
· Tapping and countersinking
· Interpret work instructions and use hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment
· Perform quality checks to ensure customer specifications are met
· Move materials and job orders throughout the shop
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
· Collaborate with team leads to meet daily production goals
Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
