What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Phlebotomy - General Lab - Full-Time position at Woman's Hospital?
Pathology Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of phlebotomy staff to ensure high-quality specimen collection, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Five years phlebotomy experience.
- ASCP/ASPT certification preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluates phlebotomy personnel.
- Provide training, onboarding, and ongoing competency assesments.
- Processes specimens accurately (orders tests and provides documentation) adhering to laboratory policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper blood collection techniques and specimen handling.
- Provides effective communication and if needed feedback with staff members about laboratory issues.
- Develops and maintains quality standards and monitors procedures in conformance with requirements of accrediting agencies.
- Ensure positive patient interactions and satisfaction. Address patient concerns or complaints.
- Oversees workflow, staffing levels, and productivity.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, flexibility to work weekends as required to support departmental operations.
Pay Range:
Hourly/Non-Exempt
$27.00 - $40.00
