- Examines blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
- Understands and holds the scope of each job.
- Orders and schedules equipment for the job.
- Installs structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, and moldings.
- Constructs building framework including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Helps erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
- Installs finished woodwork materials given the job assignment.
- Identifies and offers solutions to problems.
- Tracks time and material for change orders and sends to Trade Supervisor.
- Supervises work crews.
- Completes daily task work, next day work, and weekly work.
- Ensures work areas, machines, or equipment are maintained, for a clean and safe job site.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
- Plans, organizes, and participates in project tasks.
- Hold daily huddles and weekly toolbox talks.
- Manages and documents production to ensure or exceed budget goals.
- Predicts resources needed to complete tasks through look ahead schedules.
- Trains and mentors team members.
- Available to lead Teams across multiple different tasks.
- Manages equipment inventory and materials on site as well as budget.
- Monitors and ensures on-site safety compliance and cleanliness through daily safety inspections for task assigned.
- Oversees quality control.
- Maintains records for site personnel and production through daily logs, timecards, photos, and notes.
- Understands and reads blueprints, shop drawings and specifications.
- General knowledge of construction trades, materials, and construction methods.
- Ability to both do and delegate work.
- Experience in managing multiple tasks, priorities, projects, etc.
- Willing and open to learning new tasks and working outside of your knowledge comfort zone.
- Must have reliable, consistent transportation.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum of ten (10) years construction experience in rough and finish carpentry.
- The following trainings are required (and provided by Wolverine):
- OSHA 10-Hour certified or completed within six months of hire.
- First Aid and CPR certified or completed within six months of hire.
- Already or willing to become trained in:
- Licensed on equipment.
- Heavy machinery operator cards are highly recommended.
- Certification in welding and power actuated tools are a plus.
- Organized, with exceptional time management skills, the ability to plan and multitask in order to meet deadlines.
