The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Lead will take point in designing a data loss prevention program to protect the company’s most sensitive data. The DLP Lead provides deep cybersecurity expertise to assess, design, create, implement and govern DLP solutions and business processes and manage data loss incidents to mitigate risk. The ideal candidate will be able to speak strategically on how DLP solutions will support business processes and speak tactically to the engineering and analysts supporting systems and carrying out DLP tasks.

The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Lead will take point in designing a data loss prevention program to protect the company’s most sensitive data. The DLP Lead provides deep cybersecurity expertise to assess, design, create, implement and govern DLP solutions and business processes and manage data loss incidents to mitigate risk. The ideal candidate will be able to speak strategically on how DLP solutions will support business processes and speak tactically to the engineering and analysts supporting systems and carrying out DLP tasks.
The Day-to-Day
- Work closely with Cybersecurity, IT, and business leaders to understand business needs and translate those needs into technology solutions.
- Assess current data protection architectures, tool portfolio, and processes to develop a long-term roadmap that prioritizes the right tools to solve the right business problems or cybersecurity risks.
- Design, implement, and govern current DLP processes and technologies to meet changing business needs or evolving cybersecurity threats.
- Develop IT and Cybersecurity policies and standards that govern the use of DLP processes and solutions to create efficient operations and lower cybersecurity risk.
- Create detailed architectural diagrams and technical documentation to support DLP solutions and initiatives.
- Manage data loss incidents to ensure any risks are mitigated
- 5 or more years’ experience leading programs in data protection and data loss prevention
- Experience in cybersecurity specifically in areas of security operations, security monitoring, and/or incident response
- 3 or more years’ experience in managing endpoint, email, cloud, and network DLP solutions like Trellix DLP, Symantec DLP, Digital Guardian, or Proofpoint DLP.
- 3 or more years’ experience in managing insider threat solutions like Exabeam, Securonix, or Proofpoint ITM.
- Ability to collaborate and interact with executive IT and business leaders and align cybersecurity priorities with business priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
