Senior Estimator - Commercial Roofing (On-site)

Summary

Wolfrum Roofing & Exteriors LLC is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Commercial Roofing & Siding Estimator to join our growing team. 

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial exterior construction estimating, strong technical knowledge of roofing and siding systems, the ability to read and interpret complex construction documents, and a proven track record of successfully bidding and winning profitable projects.

This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and consistently deliver accurate, competitive, and timely proposals. This position's role is to "get work".

 Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing and/or exterior construction estimating
• Proven experience estimating large-scale commercial roofing and siding projects
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
• Experience with the Estimating EDGE & Bluebeam Revu
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and follow-through

Essential Functions

Estimating & Bid Management

• Review drawings, specifications, scope documents, and bid requirements thoroughly to develop complete and accurate estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis for commercial roofing, siding, sheet metal, and other exterior systems
• Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and bid packages for negotiated and competitive bid projects
• Solicit and maintain strong communication with subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors
• Obtain competitive pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness and scope alignment
• Ensure all bids are submitted accurately and before deadlines with complete project coverage
• Track and manage all bid-related documentation, addenda, RFIs, clarifications, and revisions
• Utilize value engineering strategies to maximize competitiveness and profitability

Project & Technical Knowledge

• Maintain expert-level understanding of commercial roofing and siding systems 
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction schedules
• Identify scope gaps, conflicts, and potential risk exposures prior to bid submission
• Understand manufacturer specifications, safety requirements, and installation best practices
• Collaborate with operations and project management teams during project turnover to ensure seamless execution

Business Development & Client Relations

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, property managers, consultants, architects, and owners
• Follow up consistently with customers after bid submission to answer questions and help close business
• Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client meetings as needed
• Represent Wolfrum Roofing & Exteriors professionally in all interactions
• Assist in identifying strategic project opportunities and market trends

Project Turnover & Collaboration

• Conduct organized handoff meetings with project management and operations teams
• Provide complete estimate documentation including assumptions, exclusions, subcontractor quotes, vendor pricing, and project risks
• Support project managers with budget reviews and cost tracking throughout project execution
• Work collaboratively across departments to maintain a “One Team” culture

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current on industry trends, materials, systems, and estimating technology
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
• Continuously seek ways to improve profitability, accuracy, and customer experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary $90,000 - $120,000, based on experience and skills

Work Environment

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment but may require occasional travel to project sites, pre-bid meetings, inspections, and client meetings.
