Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Martial Arts Instructor to teach martial arts techniques, fitness, discipline, and self-defense skills to students of various ages and skill levels. The instructor will create a safe, positive, and encouraging training environment while helping students develop their physical abilities, confidence, focus, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead martial arts classes for children, teens, and/or adults.
- Teach proper techniques, forms, drills, sparring, and self-defense skills.
- Develop lesson plans appropriate to students’ ages and skill levels.
- Demonstrate techniques clearly and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized training environment.
- Monitor students during training and promote proper safety practices.
- Track student progress and prepare students for belt promotions or competitions when applicable.
- Encourage discipline, confidence, teamwork, respect, and personal development.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff.
- Assist with demonstrations, special events, tournaments, and promotional activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience and proficiency in a recognized martial art.
- Relevant rank, certification, or instructor credentials preferred.
- Previous teaching or coaching experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students of different ages and abilities.
- Dependable, professional, patient, and enthusiastic.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Ability to pass required background checks, particularly when working with children.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate martial arts techniques and participate in physical training.
- Ability to stand, move, bend, kneel, and perform physical demonstrations for extended periods.
- Ability to safely supervise and assist students during training.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, class responsibilities, and schedule.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
