What are the responsibilities and job description for the Backend SDK Engineer position at Wolfjaw Studios?
What We Are Looking For
- Expertise in one or more key development languages such as Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript, or C /Blueprints for Unreal Engine.
- Experience supporting multi-language environments with a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from design through deployment and maintenance.
- Ability to build, test, and validate SDKs consistently across platforms and versions, ensuring reliability for multiple client integrations.
- Proven track record of creating and maintaining high-quality SDKs, including packaging, distribution, and documentation.
- Comfortable driving integration with partner teams, with experience aligning SDK functionality with evolving platform or game needs.
- Strong understanding of Unreal Engine and Blueprint workflows, especially in the context of SDK adoption and integration into shipping titles.
- 4 years of software development experience, including SDK development and lifecycle ownership
- Experience supporting SDKs across multiple programming languages (Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript, C , etc.) with a focus on cross-platform consistency.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine (C and Blueprints), with hands-on experience supporting game teams and integrating tools or systems into UE-based projects.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and regression tests as part of a CI pipeline.
- Proficiency in authoring clear, developer-focused documentation, sample apps, and code snippets to support adoption.
- Strong knowledge of build systems and CI workflows for validating SDKs across environments and language runtimes.
- Experience managing packaging and distribution pipelines (e.g., Maven, CocoaPods, npm, GitHub Packages).
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external teams, ensuring smooth integration and alignment with partner requirements.
- Experience working with or building SDKs used in game development.
- Familiarity with integrating SDKs into Unreal Engine pipelines, including asset, telemetry, or entitlement systems.
- Experience coordinating with external partners or platforms on integration requirements and SDK support.
- Background in developer experience or developer relations, with a passion for improving tooling and usability.
- Contributions to open-source libraries or prior experience supporting multi-language SDK ecosystems.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
