Position Summary:
This dual-role position combines front desk reception responsibilities with hands-on clinical support. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking, enjoys patient interaction, and has a passion for healthcare and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Reception Duties:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
- Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar
- Verify insurance and process billing
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate data entry
Technician Duties:
- Perform preliminary testing (autorefractor, tonometry, visual fields, etc.)
- Assist the optometrist during patient exams
- Educate patients on contact lens use and care
- Keep exam rooms clean and well-stocked
- Support frame selection and optical sales as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or a medical office preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in basic computer use; experience with EHR/EMR systems a plus
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
