As a Veterinary Technician at a small animal clinic, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and ensure the care and well-being of small animals. Working within a close-knit team, you will assist with medical procedures, manage laboratory tasks, and maintain thorough client communication, all while utilizing advanced digital radiography and in-house laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive animal care and monitor patient health
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and examinations
- Collect biological samples and perform laboratory testing using clinic analyzers
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
- Sterilize and maintain medical equipment and instruments
- Administer medications and monitor anesthesia
- Support surgical procedures including preparation, assistance, and post-operative care
- Assist with diagnostic imaging including digital radiography and ultrasound
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in veterinary technology
- Proficient in animal handling and phlebotomy
- Skilled in laboratory techniques and radiography
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and medical record keeping
- Effective client communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
