Job Summary
The Check-In Clerk plays an important role in making sure customer orders are accurately received, inspected, tagged, and entered into our system before being sent through production. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The Check-In Clerk will also assist customers at the front counter with both drop-offs and pickups and will be trained on our point-of-sale (POS) system and garment processing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming garments for stains, damage, special-care concerns, and items left in pockets.
- Accurately tag garments and match them to the correct customer and order.
- Enter and check customer orders into our POS system.
- Learn our garment identification and tagging procedures.
- Learn and follow our color-coded tagging system based on due dates.
- Identify and properly process expedited, rush, and special-request orders.
- Review customer preferences and special instructions to ensure they are properly documented.
- Maintain accuracy when counting and identifying garments.
- Assist walk-in customers who are dropping off or picking up orders.
- Locate completed orders and accurately process customer pickups.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at the front counter.
- Communicate customer requests or garment concerns to management and production staff when necessary.
- Keep the check-in and front-counter areas clean, organized, and ready for daily operations.
- Work efficiently to ensure incoming garments are processed and moved into production on schedule.
- Follow company procedures for garment handling and customer service.
Experience
- No previous dry-cleaning experience is required. Training will be provided.
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 per week
